Update: Moon City multipart lamp edition
Time-lapse and finished print presentation: https://youtu.be/82G-E82Zh2g
The Moon City, revisited. I've now updated this model closer to how I originally wanted it but didn't have skills or the time. Personally I enjoy this revision a lot more, here's what's new:
- Added some details, simplified others for easier printing
- More and better decals on the edges of the moon
- Fully support free, it was possible before but far easier now
- Hollowed out the central tower and made it larger, there's a hole through to the bottom for wiring LEDs
- Made it easier to print in smaller scale and added a loop for hanging as an option
- Other smaller random fixes
EDIT: I got to try a SLA printer and made a slightly edited version with rounded bottom so it functions better as jewelry, uploaded the pictures and the file I used to print it.
This model is based on the original illustration called "Arabian Crescent" by the very talented Chris Kawagiwa: https://www.chriskawagiwa.com
Nothing special really, go slow for best details and use enough infill to support the stairs and other flat details, and enough top layers for same reason. No need for supports if you have decent cooling.

Printed at 25% scale with a 0.25mm nozzle and 0.08mm layer height. Great model! Can't really see the strings by eye, but my macro lens always shows a lot of detail...
This is the Moon City. It was printed on 3D Mars Black filament and scaled up to about 175mm in height. Been wanting to print this for a long time and finally got around to doing so. It looks great! Thanks for the model! 0.4 nozzle 0.2 layer height 20% infill
Printed on Anycubic i3 Mega (ultrabase version), 0.2mm layer height, 15% infill at 80% scale in PLA. Print time was 8h 28m. I'm actually quite satisfied with the result. Thanks to the creator of this great, great model!

Awesome print! 0.175 layer 20% infill. AMZ3D silk gold.
Printed at 200 microns. Painted in geode pattern, then sprinkled inside with glitter. Made a stand by inverting the model and inserting solar panel for multicolored light. Great Valentines present :)
Printed on the new SeeMeCNC Artemis with default fine print settings for PLA. Filament is Atomic bronze.
Finished BEAUTIFULLY at 60% scale. Already on my 3 print of it for gifts, next is the full size for myself Printed on Ender 2

Printed on 1st gen CR10 at .2mm at 210C on 60C glass with Magigoo. No stringing at all. (surprising) Used ALPTA "Gray" PLA - very good PLA that is no longer available as I write this.
Nice model
In the Christmas tree :)
Various SLA prints
One of my favorite models. Prints well without supports, and it always fascinates people when I tell them it's 3D printed. Recently revisited it and printed it using 3D Solutech marble PLA. You can see a timelapse video of the print on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs6CCcfnSu2/
Step 0,2 Infil 15% Support 10%
thanks for the model.
Incredible model! I printed this to completely fill up my bed on a Creality CR-10 printer bed. It's big! I printed it using PLA Silk Copper filament.
0.2mm at 75% scale
Looks awesome. Thanks for the amazing work.
Turned out very nice! Ender 5, 60% scale, 0.12mm layer height, painted expertly.
Over 48 hours of printing on 0.15 layer height. Painted with copper metallic spray on the inside, as inspiration from some other makes. It seems that MK3/S is having some quality issues on steep overhangs, but it is in barely visible places. I recommend checking quality on curved overhangs and tweaking them before printing Moon City. Slowing down the print, tweaking, filament, temperature and cooling should make a differance. Fantastic model, thanks to Jukka Seppänen for making it!
Moon city V2 by @kijaidesign. Awesome design! Many thanks for sharing! Printed on #prusamk3 with white PLA from @dasfilament_de. #3DPrinting #lamp #mooncity #art #3ddesigningstudio #prusa

Excellent model, looks awesome. Printed with "Prusament filament" in Mystic Brown PLA, 0,2mm Layer, 0,4mm Nozzle.
3D printed with silk metallic silver on a flashforge guider II, 208 C extruder, 65C bed, 50 mm speed, super fine setting, I think 0 .12mm layer height, expanded to about 150% size, 88 hour print! Turned out awesome.
This is a fantastic model! I had to print it twice because the first time I didn't have enough layers on top and in a few spots the infill showed through.
Absolutely love the detail of this model, and glad I could print it on my Elegoo Mars. Barely 2 inches tall, it looks great in the Elegoo Clear Blue resin. It may not be big enough to insert a LED light inside, but it's a perfect print!
Very nice. Print on dagoma 200 .
The small one is my first print on my new Elegoo Mars, and the large one was as big as I could print on a Flashforge Finder. No supports, no special settings. Elegoo Water Washable Resin in Grey and Hatchbox PLA in White. Great model and fun to print! Thank you.
Merci pour cet objet qui est magnifique, imprimé en 0.15 10% 50mm/s 27 hours No problem

SunLu Silk Light Gold PLA 0.2mm Layer Height 20% infill 25 hrs original height awesome and fun print, Thanks!!! Going to do ornament with smaller layer height.
Love this model. Printed at 100% scale, 35 mm/s with 20% infill, .16 mm layers, using Sunlu rainbow PLA. Solid advice from the artist - slow print speed and higher infill - gave me the best bridging I've ever gotten on my stock Anycubic Mega S.
Great design. Loved the details. Printed in Silk Copper PLA. Check out the cool timelapse video: https://youtu.be/6I45j7CcQ0g
Great model. This is a test with Pro PLA (FILOALFA AlfaPRO), not made for the best details but it turned out ok. Printed at 0.16mm and 100% scale.
It's a fantastic design, thanks for sharing. Printer: Ender 3 Pro, With 0.12 layer height, 60mm / s speed, bed 60 degrees, extruder 200 degrees, 10% filling, Filamet eSum skin color
Printed at 0.15mm (less for the top 10mm, more for the bottom 20mm), using Spectrum Filaments Rainbow Silk PLA. It looks fantastic in direct sunlight!
185% 10% Infill Ca. 46 Hours Printed on Qidi X-MAX Stronghero3d Marble, great Material !!!!
First print I painted, it took a few tries but it turned out pretty good.
Painting techniques: Rook is rub and buff on black primer. Moon city is copper patina effect. Painting video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN1qAwLVKvA
Thanks so much for this model. I wanted to print this for years and now finally got everything setup that I could. Printed on an Ender 3 S1 with klipper firmware 0.2mm 100% scale 10% infill with 3DJake magicPLA Frozen Gold in 9h50m.
A heartfelt thank you for this model! It was among my first resin prints which felt like a triumph! I've made it for a couple of loved ones who wanted something unique for their tree. Everyone freaked out: "Look how tiny the stairs are...they're like a hair." Beautiful work Jukka!
Printed in 8:53h at 0.15mm layer height on a tuned up Sapphire-S with Klipper at 150mm/s/5000mm/s acceleration.
Anycubic KOBRA at 0.18 w/ silver silk PLA
0.6mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height. the dome on the center tower failed so i removed it. Eryone Dual-color Matte filament. One of my favorite prints to date.
Printed on Voron Switchwire using marble PETG, which hides layer lines wonderfully. Now to see about putting a light in in.
Thank you. A very easy print. This is 50% size at 0.1mm
