This is a template which can be used to create a nut holder to hold any hexagonal or square nut. By changing the parameters in the file you can control the following:
diameter and height of the nut holder
whether the hole for the nut is in the center of the part to print in place or on the top of the part for post print fitting.
how many dents are placed around the outside edge of the nut holder.
how deep these dents are in the nut holder.
how much the top and bottom edges are chamfered.
diameter and height of the nut.
thread size.
tolerance for the nut / thread holes.
I may decide to adjust the design in future to offer a "knurled" style of finish but I can't currently visualise how I intend to accomplish this. Three STL files have been uploaded as examples of a few simple variations that can be made with this template file.
