These sandal soles have been made specifically for 3d printing. They should be printed in flexible TPE (preferred) or TPU, with 3 shells and about 20% infill. Shells should be printed from the inside out. Infill can be adjusted to taste, more infill will make the soles less flexible.
After printing the flipflop soles, the upper can be constructed with rope. Climbing rope works especially well. Adding a leather upper and outsole is also an option.
The stl model is sized for EU 42.5, or a foot of 275mm long. To scale the flipflop soles to your feet, use the following settings:
EU size --- mm --- %
35 --- 220 --- 0.800
36 --- 225 --- 0.818
36.5 --- 230 --- 0.836
37 --- 235 --- 0.855
38 --- 240 --- 0.873
38.5 --- 245 --- 0.891
39 --- 250 --- 0.909
40 --- 255 --- 0.927
40.5 --- 260 --- 0.945
41 --- 265 --- 0.964
42 --- 270 --- 0.982
42.5 --- 275 --- 1.000
43 --- 280 --- 1.018
44 --- 285 --- 1.036
44.5 --- 290 --- 1.055
45 --- 295 --- 1.073
46 --- 300 --- 1.091
46.6 --- 305 --- 1.109
47 --- 310 --- 1.127
48 --- 315 --- 1.145
48.5 --- 320 --- 1.164
As always with flexible filaments, print slow and hot. I propose using 230C at 15mm/s.
