Update Dec. 24, 2022 : I added a new set of templates with recessed text labels. These new templates allow for a flush top so that a router can be used on top of the templates. The new templates fit the old holder. The new templates have a “B” in the stl file name. The new style templates can be printed in two colors (see photos) with filament switching for best label legibility.
Use this holder and the templates that go with it to guide your work when routing corners. This is designed to be used on a router table (see photos for an example). In the photos I show imperial measurements, but print files for metric measurements are also included. Included prints:
The OnShape 3D CAD files for this are available here:
Printed in PLA. The templates are designed to be a close fit in the holder, so I suggest printing the holder and one template first to check the fit. The templates are only held in by friction, so you want to make sure of a good fit. If necessary, the templates can be scaled up or down slightly to adjust the fit - of course this will change the sizes slightly but not enough to make a difference for wood-working purposes.
Use the 3mf or gcode files provided (or use as examples for the settings). In general (for the holder and templates):
The holder needs to be rotated on the print bed in order to fit the print envelope (see photos).
The templates can be printed two at a time with "Complete individual objects" set to on. I might be possible to print 3 or even 4 templates at a time, but I did not attempt this.
Print the tray in 0.3mm PLA using the canned settings.
