I gave a local group some "manta" visors. They loved them, but also told me that the state department of health was distributing a small visor shield combination called Splash Shield lite. They have a bunch of the clear shields but not many visors to hold them. They wanted to know if the visors we are printing could be modified to fit their shields.

This remix is the result. There were two things that had to be addressed. First was that the holes were not in the same place so the pins on the visor had to be moved.

The second issue was that the injection-molded visor that came with the shields has a ~1 cm slot that accepts a strip of foam glued across the front to the shield. The manta/3dverk design would not work without having a gap to sandwich the foam in between.

I did not want to deal with supports or long bridging sections so I added a small separate part that fits onto the main part after printing and is just big enough to grab the foam and hold the shield in place.

Print instructions

This version is printed upside-down relative to the originals (3DVerkstan and "Manta") because of the positioning of the holes in the Splash Shield shields, and to allow for the addition of some extra support for the foam holder.

The foam holder can be printed with the back or top on the build platform. Both work.
