I wanted a small side frame-mounted tool box to store pliers, snips, allen keys etc. for my Prusa MK3S.
Whilst there are a few options on Thingiverse, for a variety of reasons, none really fitted the bill.
I was also keen for it to be easily removal and clip in/out, rather than be screwed into place.
So, here's my solution...
As it sits within a couple of centimetres from the headed bed, I strongly recommend PETG or ABS. Pursament Prusa Orange looks great - as if it were part of the original machine!
The box itself is fully reversible, but the lid is not, so I've provided two different versions: one for lefthand use and the other righthand. The box clips into the frame using three clips, partly based on the design of a couple of other clips on Thingiverse.
There are small holes in both the box and led. These are for 4mm x 1mm neodymium magnets (super glued into place). They hold the lid on snugly and stop any potential for it vibrating; I recommend that they're used, but they're not absolutely necessary.
Note: The box is designed to fit on a Prusa MK3S that uses the stock rubber feet. If you've removed these feet or replaced them with a different version, it may either hang in mid air or be inhibited by the surface upon which the printer stands.
