Magnetic stiffeners to eliminate vibrations using IKEA LACK tables as a stand for 3D printers.
IKEA Lack tables are popular as stands for Prusa printers but the high COG together with non-rigid and lightweight construction of Lack table cause vibrations of the entire construction. While this fragility can be partially eliminated by making the Lack tables more rigid by adding angle stiffeners or by adding more weight, usually by stone plates. Actually, adding weight on top of a wobbling construction might be questionnable.
It is possible to stabilize the construction by fixing the stand as close to the vibration source (printer) as possible to some solid object (usually a wall), considering the moving mass is quite small.
Proposed design is intended to fix the printer stand (Lack table) to a wall through neodyme magnetic clamps, allowing for easy detachment for printer maintenance.
Designed for max. 4 neodyme magnets 15x10x4 per one clamp, the clamping power of one cclamp pair in max configuration is approx 20kg.
