My wife's insulin pump clip was frequently breaking at the hinge's hole. A Replacement costs a steep 10 Euros here in Germany. 10 Euros for a poorly designed clip made out of a bit of cheap plastic. 🤬
So I decided to design and print one out for her. Even if this would break after a short time it is way less expensive and a lot quicker to be replaced.
Other designs, like some I found on Thingiverse, have also very weak hinges in my opinion. Furthermore, they all try to reproduce the hook at the end of the clip of the original one.
My wife has the opinion that this hook has no real purpose, especially when you put the pump onto your waistband. Doing so, you need some sort of friction resistance which my design provides.
I think my solution works pretty well and makes the clip a little bit thinner, so it bothers a little less during the day. Additionally, this design can be printed without any support.
My suggestion is to sand off the corners of the print to make it even more pleasant when touching bare skin.
If you have suggestions for even more improvements, please let me know. Your opinion on this design and suggestions to make it even better is appreciated
