Ikea PLATSA spool holder V1

My newer version comes recommended, combined with my separate filament guide. That combination provides numerous benefits, like being able to mount it any time to either side of the closet (not having to pick a dedicated version) and being able to fit the Prusa Mini's heatbed.

I did a quick design of a spool holder to fit the Ikea PLATSA closet.

I used a clothing-rail above my printer to mount spools before, but that took up a lot of space. This spool holder can be mounted off to the side.

The spool holder has threads for screwing in PTFE couplers in two directions (M6 & M10 versions). Works great in a reverse bowden setup.

It has to be mounted with two screws, with a diameter of about 5mm and a length of 15mm (I reused the ones from my clothing-rail).

Print instructions

For print settings I used the 0.3mm draft settings from PrusaSlicer, with variable layer heights for the threaded area.

If you don't care too much about print speed, printing at 0.2mm will be fine for the threads.

I recommend printing it with 15-20% grid infill.

No supports necessary.
