Billions of years of tectonic forces and magma flow in the making, culminating in your very own sandstone vent.
The ridges on this vase are formed using noise textures with which the outer shell of the base mesh is repeatedly displaced.
Prints at 0.15-0.16 mm layer height without supports. Use at least 4 perimeters when printing with a 0.4 mm nozzle. Infill percentage can be low, e.g. 4%.
If using a Slicer variant, try SuperSlicer, as it provides an option to eliminate solid infill over sloping areas, which would otherwise affect surface quality. In recent versions this can be found under Print Settings > Quality, where “Ensure vertical shell thickness” must be on, and “No solid infill over … perimeters” must be set to 1. A project file with the appropriate settings is provided.
Filaments used for the prints pictured (PLA throughout):
- Single vase: Fillamentum Extrafill Mukha
- Multiple vases, left to right: Prusament Mystic Green, Fillamentum Extrafill Concrete Grey, eSUN Cold White
