Parametric MultiPurpose Box
Parametric MultiPurpose Box

It is a fully parametric box (fusion360), useful for containing various types of objects (compact flash / SD card, filament chips or swatches, credit cards, and other parallelepiped-shaped objects).
I've included two versions: one (version A) box with a self-generating lid and the other (version B) without a lid (in case you don't need one).
The structure of the box is resistant. I designed it for printing with PLA, I haven't tried other materials.
I am using it for storing my sample swatches (see the other project), but it can be used for storing many other things.
VERSION A - box with the lid
You need to set:
1) the width of the object
2) the thickness of the object
3) the height of the object
4) the number of the objects (please enter an even number): consider that the printed slots will be equal to the number entered - 1 (ie. 10 - 1 = 9)
5) space between objects
6) text customizable
The box shape, tolerances and lid will be created automatically.
The lid of the box has a thickness of 0.40 mm, sufficient to produce a certain transparency that will allow you to see the text printed inside.
I recommend that you use a filament with a good degree of transparency with thin layers.
VERSION B - box without a lid
The same of version A, but without a lid.
In this case you can set your preferred box height.
You need to set:
1) the width of the object
2) the thickness of the object
3) the height of the box (BOX not OBJECT)
4) the number of the objects (please enter an even number): consider that the printed slots will be equal to the number entered - 1 (ie. 10 - 1 = 9)
5) space between objects
The box shape and tolerances will be created automatically.
Important 3D printing tips
nozzle = 0.40mm
layer height = 0.20mm
perimeters = 3 (this is very important, and mandatory)
infill = 15%
infill mode = rectilinear
I inserted the fusion360 source file to allow you to customize the box as you want.
Added print files:
- Compact Flash card box (yes I still use them) of 5 pieces (gcode for Prusa Mini and .3mf file)
If you do not use Fusion360 and you want other types of boxes, please ask to me and I will try to create the file for you and upload it (remember to give me dimensions of your object as stated above).
PS.
The PLA materials used in the attached images are: Prusament Prusa Orange and Polymaker PolyTerra Peach.
I have done several tests with different materials and the dimensional parameters have always proved to be correct.
