I decided after making the previous generation Mac Pro case I would be a bit more ambitious and make the new Mac Pro case. This model is at 20% scale and is designed to print at that size. Printing bigger shouldn't be a problem but due to small parts printing smaller would be difficult.
On my print, I found the feet and handles to be particularly difficult as the tall height and the small center of balance can lead to dislodgement or artifacts as it gets towards the top. These are also only a couple mm wide to be scale accurate so it's definitely worth printing spares for when they inevitably break.
In total, I spent around a cool 24 hours printing, not including the spares. I used a 0.2mm layer height for the main body but would recommend as fine a layer height as your printer can do for the front and back panel with no support. This is just because the intricate circles look best with that super fine layer height.
Although the functionality of this print isn't great it does have a hollow main body so can store small things. Functionality isn't necessarily great I think it's just a cool model to show what 3D printing is capable of.
