An opensource constructive modular general purpose system, ready for 3D printing

ZOBOTUK, ORITUK or simply TUK may also be names for this project. Since it is still developing there is still no limit for its variations.

3D modelled in Blender 2.93, can be modified using any later version as well.

Printed and tested with a Creality Ender 3, and also with the GTMax 3D printer.

This is a proposal for a constructive open source system.

The system as it is already functions as a toy.
My guess is it can be used in art classes as it is or with the goal of developing other and new modules. I am quite sure it can be also adapted for the use in biology classes or as a protein models creator or something but I do not have the specific knowledges to develop this version and I hereby offer this project to worldwide community so this may happen.

Combining its modules, the system allows the creation of both stable and dynamic shapes. The most important feature of this system is the possibility of creating dynamic structures, that is, structures capable of changing its shape without the parts being disconnected. This is possible due to the fitting system made up of tubes and pins. Each part connects with others through the presence of at least one tube or pin.

3D PRINT DETAILS

The BEST filament for this project appears strongly to be the PETG and TPU.

PETG basic configs are:

I printed with at least a 0.2 layer and 20% infill

I used a 45% limit for support and 3% of support density and also a 8 brim for better fixing the pieces in the plate

I used a 30mm/s velocity.

Also 230º nozzle and 50º the plate (i use a weak hairspray to adhere the pieces to the hotbed.)

I have also printed in ABS and in PLA, both with 0.3mm layer and a 15% infill and a 6% support density and 50mm/s velocity and it works well.
Better quality (layer and infill) may lead to better results but it works fine with this minimal settings, it is acceptable.

For PLA and ABS please download the appropriate version since differences exist in certain measures. In the PLA/ABS blender file the connetable pins are 0.59 x 0.6 cm in diameter.

In the PETG blender file the measures are 0.62 x 0.61 cm of the pin, the holes are the same measure in both versions.
