This model allows you to upcycle your empty Prusament spool into a bedside table. The hole in the middle is useful for the cables of your phone charger.

It snap fits so i recommend using PETG to allow a bit of flexibility when you snap it into place.

The model fits the width of the Ikea Brimnes wooden panel (24mm) but i provided the source so you can adapt it for your own. Or let me know what width you would like to have so i can provide one for you.

How to print it:

  • I recommend using PETG, haven't tried PLA though
  • it is designed to be printed on the side. It is not symetrical so make sure you orient it on the face as shown in the screenshot: both sides are not equivalent.
  • use a 2mm brim to ensure good bed adhesion, as the contact surface is small and the model is tall. I had to reduce my original model to fit in my Prusa Mini, that is how tall it is.
  • print at regular speed, since the model is thin and tall it could wobble at higher speeds
  • don't use supports (i hate those guys)

How to fit the Prusament spool into the print:

  • check the alignment of the hexagon pattern. You want to fit the model perpendicular to the pattern's orientation:

  • once the model is snapped into the spool it is very difficult to remove, so make sure to double check before pushing
  • push hard

if you like, you can add some drawers too with the following model: https://www.printables.com/model/120167-the-simplest-prusament-drawer-tower

Just remove 2mm on the top of the drawers near the bed to avoid hitting the table support. You can do that with a negative volume directly in PrusaSlicer

Big thank you to makers eurad and cisardom for the spool design i used for projection: https://www.printables.com/model/61508-prusament-spool-model-modified
