Do you have a work desk without drawers and miss being able to store things out of the way? Then you're in luck, just print these out, pickup a cheap storage container and enjoy storage space for $3, without being in a cubicle.
See the instructions for more details and a recommended container. There are 2 versions: one with screw holes and one with more surface area for (strong) double sided tape. I included the SketchUp files in case you want to tweak the design for your needs.
Instructions
- Print out 4 brackets for either tape or screws - You can print it in 2 orientations:
- Vertical (pictured): No support needed, but an over-tightened screw will split the bracket
- Flat: Support needed, but stronger due to layer being perpendicular to screw.
- Print out the handle.
- Buy a Sterilite 16 quart storage container. I chose this bin because it has lipped side rails, end-stops, durable design and adequate size. I've seen them at Target, Amazon and Home Depot for about $3.
- Pop the brackets onto the rails of the storage bin
- Attach the brackets to the underside of the desk:
- Screws: Use #6 x 3/4 particle board / wood screws. Screw length depends on your table.
- Tape: Use strong double sided tape and let it set before loading
- Double-sided tape on the handle
