Needed a set of door shims for a home fix but wasn't sure which size I would need exactly. I ran across Mhemling33's shims which had a variety of sizes and I liked the slot vs hole design for the screws as it is more forgiving with hinge screw placement. When I went to slice them, I found the model was in inches so the slicer made them very very small. I know you can scale by 24.5 but I just loaded them into Fusion360 and converted the model to mm (thanks for the step files to make that easy!). After a few measurements and a test print, the shims ended up being narrower than I preferred for my hinge type so I then went back to Fusion to modify the model to be wider while keeping the other features in the right spots. Slicer scaling wasn't an option here as it would stretch the slots and then not align with the screw locations.

Included is the;

  • Original source shim converted to mm (25.4mm wide) for easy printing
  • New expanded model (28.9mm wide) for anyone with a jam side hinge that's around 85x29mm. For me that's a semi-current North American builder grade room door.
  • Step files for both for easy modification.

Enjoy!
