My back gate's latch is a bit wonky and the wind has taken its toll on it. Was using a bent coat hanger to secure it, but knew I could do better. So I model and printed this. Maybe it will be an inspiration for you to make things that are useful to you.

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.26mm

Infill:

2 shells.

Trying out MakerGeek's Raptor high-temp PLA. We'll see how well it holds up to the elements. May redo eventually in PET.

Post-Printing

Assembled with a M5x10 socket head screw and a M5 locknut.

How I Designed This

I used Onshape to model it. Added a wavy spring to give a little give and added inner spikes to hold the post strap in place.

If you want to dig through my Onshape file, you can check it out here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/6b054dccb636c22229eda696/w/5b0a7acebc694616646d3f78/e/fa9617e5cc26ec3752e2ab7c
