Smurf Tube (1/2 inch) Box fitting

I went to the hardware store today to get a couple of these fittings and was amazed at how expensive they were. I got one and recreated it in the computer. This is a non-glued mechanical fitting that snaps onto the tubing without tools and has a thread for the box end.

My design is a little less complicated than the original, and minor modifications were made so it could be printed without supports. It serves the same function. The original is designed to be removable with a screwdriver. Mine would likely not come off well because of the layers on the snap mechanism would likely be destroyed by a metal tool, so plan on one use only. I don't see this as a big problem because they use 6gm of filament and are typically used once only. If you want it to be really permanent, put a little dab of silicone caulk inside the fitting and it will stay very tightly.
