×Carl Johan Adlercreutz
Carl Johan Adlercreutz is shown wearing an antique toga. He started his military career at the age of thirteen, and was a supporter of Gustav III’s coup d’état in 1772. He distinguished himself in the war against Russia (1788–1790) and during the Finnish war (1808–1809), despite losses. He led the coup when Gustav IV Adolf was deposed and later paved the way for a new political orientation under the leadership of Karl (XIV) Johan.
