“Making of” video
Inspired by a TikTok featuring a piece of industrial machinery with googly eyes, I set about souping up my new half-ton pickup truck with googly eyes and a mouth, meant to look like a dog hanging its head out the window (the Ford logo is the nose). I worked on this in secret and managed to keep it a surprise from my kids until the big reveal.
Designed using Fusion 360.
The googly eyes were sourced from Amazon:

(currently unavailable, but any 7" eyes should work)
It is important to print the attachment points on their side (i.e. with the “D” shape on the print bed). This orients the layer lines so that there isn't a weakness that would allow the mounts to break under stress.
The mouth/tongue is a multi-part STL. In PrusaSlicer, you can split to parts in order to specify different materials for the mouth, tongue, and median sulcus if you have a MMU. It has to be printed at an angle in order to fit on the print bed (see photo).
Googly eyes and tongue were glued into the mounts using epoxy.
Once assembled, I mounted on the grille with zip ties.
