I've previously uploaded a number of ebike designs (alas, before the current challenge), but I decided to upload this one because I think it is a good fit.
Hammerhead Karoo is a really great GPS and it includes a ‘garmin’ mount adapter. But their ‘native’ mount is fairly unique (and uncommon). This upload contains two things:
- An “adapter” which fits the back of the Karoo and mounts to any standard mount via two M3 hex-head bolts (10mm length recommended). This part can be printed in PETG or PLA, but I think PLA is slightly better (because of the built in spring hinge). I recommend printing a few, because I've designed it to fail before either the GPS or the mount in the case of collision. So it will function as a cheap replaceable ‘fuse’ if you wreck.
- For underseat steering recumbent bikes we don't have “handlebars”, therefore I've made a “mount” that should fit most forward booms. It has cutouts so you can use quickties to attach to the boom and the steerer tube stub. I recommend printing in PETG (because sun exposure and impacts) but PLA is probably fine.
I've made the source 3D files fully editable in the free onshape web app. You can get them here if you'd like to customize.
