Description
The baptismal font designed by Jacopo della Quercia is the result of a collaboration a collection of some of the world's most renowned sculptors of the mid 1400s. The polygonal basic is Gothic, from which a high Renaissance construction emerges. On top of the original sculpture (not featured on this cast) is the statue of St John, made by Quercia. The bronze reliefs and the statues in the niches are the works of Quercia, Donatello and Ghiberti.
