set work piece and then pull the clamp around to lock the piece in place. it can come loose when pushed in line with the clamping action and thus works best when used with stops set side to side as well as against the clamp.  be careful. too much tension can damage softer materials. 

print top side down, and make sure to use infill suitable for the force you plan to apply. Though I found that even at 25% infill it gave a pretty solid hold. 

the largest hole in the handle is also .75 for easy stacking and storage.
