Description

PDF

Provides a tactile template for the visually impaired to sign a cheque (US: check) in the right place.

Designed for a UK HSBC cheque; I think all UK cheques have a standardised layout.  I don’t know whether it works for other countries’, but you can edit it online in Tinkercad.

Use a dark colour so the box contrasts with the cheque.

Print settings

Orientation: stand on a long edge, and use a brim (4 mm was fine for me).

Layer height: 0.2 mm initial, 0.192 mm rest in order to minimise (in Cura 4.10.0) superfluous skin within the signature aperture wall

Line width: 0.4 mm (Top surface skin width: 0.26 mm)

Wall line count: 1

Infill: none

Top/bottom: Lines, [0,90]
Top surface skin: [90], being parallel to the piece, to avoid rattling away at right angles next to the signature aperture, risking knocking the piece over

Z seam: wherever it won’t snag the cheque during insertion

Supports: none

How I designed this

In Tinkercad.  Edit it online.
