I was originally going to cut the Printrbot Spool Stand but it was nowhere close to what I wanted. They are using clip in wood parts to hold the bearings and the bearing are not supported from the inside. Also it doesn't fit 8" spools like the ones Makerbot uses. So this will hold 8" full spools and fully support the weight and spin freely. It also prevents the spool from sliding off and jamming. Another nice feature is that you can tie multiple units side by side without the spools touching. Perfect for multiextrusion or just holding all of your filaments ready to feed into your printer.

Cut the pieces out and assemble. It is cut from 1/4 or 5mm birch ply.
You will need the following hardware:
4 608zz bearings
8 1/4 washers
4 1/4 x 1" nuts and bolts (or 2&1/2" long bolts to tie units together)
2 M3 22 Nuts and bolts
