This is a surface mount for a SUB-D9 terminal block.
For my DIY 3D printer project I needed a way to mount these blocks to a surface and by default there is no way to do this properly as there is simply no way. :) So I designed a small pocket to slide the terminal in. No need to cut the soldering and wires at the bottom. Just slide the block in and fixate it. done.
I included the FreeCAD source file, so you can adapt it to any type of connector you desire to mount onto a surface.
The two bigger holes are for surface mount. The small one is to lock the PCB in place, so you can even mount it on a vertical plane with the connector facing down.
You can use just one bigger hole and the smaller screw to fixate the mount as well. If you need to remove/swap the terminal block a lot just use two big screws to keep the slot pocket in place and in addition the small one to fixate the PCB.
Have fun and happy printing.

Notes:
Print with the closed side down and use a brim if your print bed adhesion isn´t that good.
I would avoid printing it flat on a surface as you would need to remove all the support from the slot. I printed several in vertical orientation and the all came out of the printer in a ready to use state. Category: ElectronicsThe author marked this model as their own original creation.
