The PrintDry PRO filament dryer includes a couple of rubber adapters for different size spool center holes. However they will not fit spools with large center holes. This adapter will fit most spools with center holes up to about 80mm diameter. I use it almost exclusively now for all spools instead of the supplied adapters by PrintDry. There can be no misalignment of the axle that holds the filament spool as it passes through a single part of the adapter versus the two sides of the PrintDry adapters....thereby ensuring minimum friction as the spool turns. As I rarely use my PrintDry PRO above 60C, I used PETG as the print material. You can certainly use a material with a higher glass transition temperature if concerned, or if you use higher dryer temperatures. Use the best thread printing settings for your printer.
I used 0.2mm layer height, 4 perimeters (with extra perimeters if needed enabled), and 30% infill…as this seemed to work well on my MK3S for the threads.
Apr 14/23: Had request for a longer adapter to accommodate 2kg spools. So added the “long” stl file.
