When I started working from home during covid lockdowns I found myself using my iPhone most of the time for my work video calls. This worked great except that the angle of my wireless charger wasn't ideal for video. I needed a solution that allowed me to keep my phone on my charger while selecting the perfect video call angle.
Since creating this I've found other uses for it as well such as using it to tilt down a baby camera to better see into a crib and angling an action camera down to get a better view for a long time-lapse. I even have used it to figure out the perfect angle to then be able to print a more permanent and specific “wedge” mount for my Infant Optics baby camera.
The range of selectable angles is roughly between 3-30 degrees as seen in the pictures. This could be adjusted by printing shorter/taller sled blocks using the included step file.
I printed mine in PLA at 0.20mm quality settings and 15% infill for the main unit and it has held up great to daily use for over a year. The sled, blocks and screw I printed at 0.15mm quality setting and set the screw to enough perimeters that it prints solid. No supports are needed for any of the files and the hinges print in place beautifully.
