IKEA Drybox Remix + Rewind

This is a remix based on the Complete IKEA Drybox Solution idea from crashdebug on thingiverse with some element ideas from Mihai's DryBox on thangs. All parts but roller_mount_inside and roller_mount_outside are done from scratch in onshape.

I was looking for a solution for a filament drybox where i can also rewind the spools. The best solution for a box seemed the IKEA 365+ 10.6l box because of the availability. As this type of box would house 2 filament rolls and i wanted to switch them independent from each other, i searched for a solution where the filament roll sits on two rolls, instead of hanging on a shared rod on the center hole.

Unfortunately there was no solution which also had a rewind functionality which i rely on because of filament changing with the MMU2. So i began creating my own solution.

Hardware needed

• 8mm aluminium rod ~ 1m
• 16x M3x12 rounded head screws
• 16x M3 nuts
• 2x M10 pneumatic fittings for teflon tube push through mounting
• Teflon tube
• 15x 608 bearings (d8mm inner /D22mm outer)
• 2x M3x25
• 6x M3x10 with countersunk screw head
• 8x M3x20 with countersunk screw head
• Silicone for making the whole thing more airthight
• Cheap hygrometer if needed
• Foam rubber sheet (~4mm thick) (Moosgummi) to get more traction on the driven roller
• Glue to mount the foam rubber
• String to hold the foam rubber attached around the roller while the glue dries

For the desiccant box

• 9x M3x10 or M3x12 (depending on screw type)
• 9x M3 nut

• 4x bearing_mount
• 2x Shaft

• 2x Roller
• 2x Roller Cog
• 1x Knob_right
• 1x Knob_left
• 2x Inner
• 2x Outer

Knob_left_arrow and Knob_right_arrow can be used for a MMU Print

For the stabilizing long roller

• 1x Roller straight long
• 2x roller_mount_inside
• 2x roller_mount_outside

For the desiccant box

• 3x BoxPlate
• 1x Boxholder
• 1x Box
