Prusa MK3S Spool Holder Mount

I see so many people placing the default Prusa supplied holder on their printers and then complain when the filament comes off of the spool due to non-centered rotating spools. 

I decided to make one for those who want to avoid “spool hop” which is caused when the spool is mounted off center.

1: Print my mounts as seen in holder1.jpg (Settings and filament are your choice) I would say no less than 30% infill and 3 perimeters. 

2: Print the threaded spool holder and Nut (large or your choice) located here: (I'm sure this can also be found here on Prusa) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1241566

3: The threaded spool holder offers a few ways to setup. A: simply use a ¼ threaded rod cut to needed length. B: purchase an 8mm hollow fiberglass or carbon fiber tube (length up to you) C: (what I do) buy these bearings (also recommended at TV link) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07211VH78/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1     I use both options- ¼ inch threaded rod and 8mm hollow tube for the several spools I have going.  

I have sized the slot (at the top) to fit either a ¼ inch threaded rod or 8mm tube See holder3.jpg as well

I would also suggest mounting these to the top as shown in holder2.jpg with the “legs” facing inwards. 

Prior to posting (after screenshots) I made a slight change to the slot that fits over the Prusa frame, I made the depth 20mm instead of the previous 15mm to give a more secure hold.

3-24-21 As an added option I decided to make a simple brace in the event the Mount wants to move around. The length is an estimate so if you want it longer or shorter you can use something simple like Tinkercad to adjust. My thought behind this is to use an adhesive like Goop to attach it to the front or back, applied to the Mounts once you have a desired width overall. As a reference see picture: Brace.jpg
