This is a 3D fractal sculpture. Although it was created using some fairly simple math, it has a distinctly organic look and feel. In your mind's eye it could be an alien fossil discovered while trekking on a distant world, a curious genetic experiment...or maybe it's just an interesting chunk of eye-candy. :)

It definitely has an anatomical look to it. Might be useful in Dungeons and Dragons or other tabletop campaigns. Makes a create exotic skeleton. One of my favorite of these fractal artifacts. It almost tells a story all by itself.

Print Settings

Supports:

Yes

Notes:

Not a simple print, but not as bad as some of the others in this series. I prefer something like Cura's Tree supports. They go well with this organic shapes. Might want to use a brim because there are only a few small flat spots where the model touches the plate.

How I Designed This

Created using Mandelbulb 3D, MeshLab, and ZBrush. I made a tutorial for the basic process of turning the fractal shapes into meshes. It's a few years old now but the overall process is the same with current versions of the apps. https://youtu.be/Kpu-DZs9HXU
